22nd Annual International Symposium on Therapeutic Ultrasound 6th European Symposium of EUFUS
The Annual Symposium will be held at the Palais de la Bourse, a listed historical monument right in the heart of Lyon. Well regarded as a French and European hub for technological and clinical innovation, Lyon provides a perfect place to share the latest advancements in the field.
Sponsors will connect with scientists, engineers, and clinicians from around the world as we gather for the second joint meeting of the International Society for Therapeutic Ultrasound (ISTU) and the European Focused Ultrasound Charitable Society (EUFUS).
We anticipate over 500 attendees this year with the combined ISTU EUFUS Symposium and the hybrid format.
The hybrid meeting will allow you to interact in-person and online through unique hybrid advertising opportunities like banner ads, online chat rooms, and sponsored content. We’ve built robust and varied sponsorships level to provide unique visibility, generate leads, and maximize your beneits as a sponsor. We hope to greet you in Lyon!

Welcome Letter
Welcome to the 22nd Annual International Symposium for Therapeutic Ultrasound and the 6th European Symposium of EUFUS!
We are excited to join scientists, engineers, clinicians and industry from around the world as we come together in Lyon, France for the second joint meeting of the International Society for Therapeutic Ultrasound (ISTU) and the European Focused Ultrasound Charitable Society (EUFUS).
On behalf of the Local Organizing Committee and both our organizations, it is our great honor to host this year’s meeting in Lyon, the capital city in France’s Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region and the gastronomy capital of France, featuring several Michelin-rated restaurants. We invite you to experience the beautiful city throughout the program!
We are honored to be joined by the Local Organizing Committee from INSERM to host this year’s meeting at the historic Palais de la Bourse. Since the establishment of our Society in 2001, ISTU has laid the foundation for the continuous improvement and advancement of therapeutic ultrasound technology by providing the means for the international community in ultrasound to come together once every year to collaborate and share knowledge. This year’s annual symposium will continue this tradition, and we sincerely hope this symposium will inspire new ideas and encourage innovations throughout all the different facets of this exciting field.
ISTU would like to remind attendees that the different committees leading our society are open to everybody. Please join and contribute to the life of ISTU. After these four exciting days in Lyon, we’ll be ready to head to Taipei, Taiwan in September 19-22, 2024 for our next Annual Symposium.
EUFUS would like to remind attendees that they offer free membership. Please just fill in the membership form within this program book and send it back to office@eufus.org. Our next EUFUS symposium will take place on September 18-19, 2025 in Frankfurt.
Please remember to visit the sponsor exhibits both in person and virtually interact with our important supporters. We simply can’t thank them enough for their contribution to this event, and their ongoing dedication to the success of our Annual Symposium.

Important Guidelines
Reporting of Therapeutic Ultrasound Treatment Parameters
Detailed reporting of therapeutic ultrasound treatment parameters is essential to allow the testing of therapy ultrasound systems and protocols, cross-comparison of studies between different teams using different systems and validation of therapeutic bio-effects.
Recommendations, intended to provide guidance on which parameters should be measured, and to encourage best practice in their reporting, have been published recently. These are divided into two sets, each with stratified reporting categories. One set is for clinical studies, and one for preclinical, to account for disparities in expertise and in access to equipment in different sites. The recommendations are intended to be useful for clinicians and researchers, for ethical and funding review boards and for the editors and reviewers of scientific journal.
These guidelines are part of broader initiatives to promote proper and consistent treatment parameter reporting, with the goal of achieving a greater level of standardization in publications in the field, to increase awareness of the topic and to spark conversations on this topic.
